Myth: Different Egg Types and Nutrition

Although it might seem that these types of eggs would be more nutritious, they typically DO NOT provide more nutrients than traditional eggs.

Of course, if you’d rather eat these types of eggs, they are a great and nutritious option.

Fertile eggs (which can become chicks) have a shorter shelf life. Organic eggs are laid by hens fed organic feed. “Free range” or “cage free” eggs come from chickens either raised outdoors or that have daily access to the outdoors.

Expect these types of eggs to cost more, but do not expect these eggs to provide additional nutrition for the extra money!
